The Providence Public Library is a private, nonprofit corporation providing public library services to the City of Providence and the State of Rhode Island. We provide access to information and opportunities for learning to the community at-large and other libraries by offering materials, staff support, and centers for meeting.
Vision:
Operating from a reputation for excellence and a history of community investment, the Providence Public Library, a national leader, assures that everyone - every child and adult, every citizen and newcomer, every individual and group, regardless of economic position, neighborhood or native language - will have an opportunity to grow intellectually, to nurture creativity and to achieve their potential.
