The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island cares for people in need—locally, in Israel, and overseas—and helps ensure a strong Jewish community. For nearly 70 years, the Alliance has been making our community stronger, more engaging, and more vibrant. The Jewish Community Center at 401 Elmgrove Avenue—renamed the Dwares JCC in 2014 to reflect the generosity of philanthropists Donald and Bonnie Dwares—is the central address where the Jewish community comes to congregate, recreate, learn and flourish. The Dwares JCC houses a fitness center with indoor pool, an early childhood center, summer camp, afterschool program, gallery and more. The Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island continues to operate as both a Jewish Community Center and a Jewish Federation that supports programs for all ages, faiths, and backgrounds, and sustains the Jewish community today and for future generations.
